Abusive review comments continue
Papa Joe's Appliance Repair continues to be the choice for consumers that want to pay through the nose and get threatened (online or verbally) if they express any concerns about service or the company's business practices.
Here's the owner responding to a negative online review with vitriol and toxicity. In this case, including the customer's name, address, and phone number.
Why? Does the owner think this kind of retaliation will convince this customer to pull down their review or prevent other customers from sharing their experiences in the future?
Regardless, don't give this man or his business your money.

Edit: after review owner send threatening txt message about my experience. Stay far, far away. Very unprofessional. Disagree with them and they threaten to legal action.
“Dear Aaron, thank you so very much for the lies you posted about our company. Please read your NON DISPARAGEMENT clause in your signed receipt. Please have your lawyer contact us with his information for the court action. We will provide him with ours to start the lawsuit. Hope you have insurance for this one insurance man.”
I Was told over the phone their would be no charge if repair could no be completed. This is not true, service could not be completed but was still charged service fee.
Part(s) needed would take 90 days as back ordered, but was told by the owner it could be fixed “with a smile on his face” so service fee applies. How can it be fixed if parts take 90-days?
The owner spent the hour lecturing me and referring me to his buddy to buy a new fridge instead of assessing my problem at hand. I never even got a quote, had to ask for a price at the end and he said he stopped after part price and 90 day delay.
What a loophole. They had to know parts for kitchen aid fridges were 90 days back ordered prior to service call and arrival. I was told they don’t even work on certain models so they’re in tune with the industry. Took down model number, etc over the phone prior to phone. Would not recommend.
Response from the owner (Papa Joe's Appliance Repair):
Dear (REDACTED customer name, home address, and phone number) well you got to review us so now it's our turn. You contacted our office this morning, Monday January 24th, 2022 inquiring about needing service for your Kitchen Aid refrigerator. You had informed me that it would cool as it should but then would stop every so many days. You would unplug it, plug it back in and it would work. You stated that this has been happening for approximately 1 month but you wanted to have it looked at. I did inform you of how our pricing for service calls works....there is a "travel/diagnostic fee which is applied towards the repair. There is no return charge if parts are needed. If you decline the repair, or if the technician is not able to repair the appliance due to no fault of his, such as "the parts are not available or if it is not a cost effective repair" then it is that travel/diagnostic fee." I did also inform you that due to the erratic symptoms you were having it does sometimes make it difficult to diagnose the problem if it is not occurring at the time of the visit but the service call is still owed which you did acknowledge. What I DID tell you is that sometimes with Kitchen Aid refrigerators, they can be difficult to diagnose depending on the compressor system and that if that was the case with this fridge, my technician may decline the repair and that he sometimes will not charge for the trip. He did inform you that your fridge was repairable, however the parts that are needed are on back order possibly for 90 days or more. Just because you gave me the model number does not tell us anything prior to the technician evaluating the fridge....if that were the case, wouldn't you just be able to call your doctor with your symptoms and he could tell you what medicine is needed and you wouldn't have to go see him? Any appliance repair service you call will ask you for a model number for the appliance...it doesn't mean you won't have to pay for the service call.
I was initially going to schedule your appointment for Wednesday but you stated that since your fridge was not acting properly today, you really preferred today if at all possible which we did accommodate for you....wow, I didn't think providing a customer with same day service would work against us. Sorry you didn't get the answer you were hoping for and as for his lecture of recommending his "buddy" for a new fridge? That is just a local family owned business that we like to refer customers to so that they may have more of a positive experience rather than having a bad one at one of the big box stores. We do not benefit from giving you the recommendation. We also do not profit from just a service call. We are not going to repair an appliance if it is not what's best for the customer.
Certifiably crazy. Look him up he has a gun charge in washtenaw county, multiple court cases in multiple counties
