Others have noticed too

I found this thread on the "Google My Business Help" forum, titled "Competitor 100s of fake 5 star reviews".

So, clearly:

  • Others have noticed the same fake reviews / online fraud
  • Google may have already removed some reviews, meaning there could have been even more fake reviews at some point in the past

 Well, my critical online reviews of Papa Joe's Appliance Repair just got the attention of the owner, who divulged my personal information (name, address, and phone number) as promised. He also intimated that he would have his lawyer contact me if I do not remove the reviews - providing the name and contact information for said lawyer. Abusive review comments continue

Papa Joe's Appliance Repair continues to be the choice for consumers that want to pay through the nose and get threatened (online or verbally) if they express any concerns about service or the company's business practices. Here's the owner responding to a negative online review with vitriol and toxicity. In this case, including the customer's name, address, and phone number. Why? Does the owner think this kind of retaliation will convince this customer to pull down their review or prevent other customers from sharing their experiences in the future? Regardless, don't give this man or his business your money.
