I found this thread on the "Google My Business Help" forum, titled "Competitor 100s of fake 5 star reviews". https://support.google.com/business/thread/16650717?hl=en So, clearly: Others have noticed the same fake reviews / online fraud Google may have already removed some reviews, meaning there could have been even more fake reviews at some point in the past
